You (poem)

admin August 21, 2014 Bobbie Ellis

You imageI am looking for you in your green velvet cloak
You came to me in dreamtime
A see through shape of my lineage
“Abide with me” was your message..over and over again
Now I see you everywhere
You touch me with the softest breeze that reaches the smallest hairs on my face skin
You shake me open with winds that can blow my head off
You are in the blood of the greenest finest leaf
The blade of grass
The resting hills
Solid rock
I had been looking for you in the form you revealed yourself to me
And now I realize you are in everything
You can shapeshift and morph
No longer confined to a human body
I can see you in the face of my son
In the soft curves of his lips and hard working hands
You are the cloak of the world
The stars..the clouds
Shining, moving
I can see you in my own eyes, the richness of amber green
Sometimes tired, but kind
in each warm ray of sunlight my body drinks you in
You are the faint whispering memories of my mother
The horrifics of my father
You are the wrath, and the caress
The darkest blanket of night sky
I Need your love
To be made love to
To be touched
Kissed in just the right way
At times so so soft and then fierce with passion
So much longing for you
You are everywhere
I want you
I need you
And when I become aware of you, I need nothing
Because you are a part of me
The marrow of my bone
The soft glow of red in my hair
You are in every amber glint in every eye
In every place of green
You are with me always
and you will continue when I am no longer in this form
To think one day I will be on an ancestral alter..
At times I think about my own passing and it puts me at the mouth of each moment in a way no other contemplation can
My inner life is growing to enormous size
My outer life is a holding pattern
Tell me turtle…you live in this pond year after year…
What is your secret?
How dear tree, do you grow so tall and wide in one place?
I want to move!!!!!
